Terri and Jim SchaleskyWhile Terri and Jim were on a romantic adventure to the wonderful city of Nashville, Tennessee, they happened into one of the fine eating establishments in downtown Nashville for some lunch. Given the many choices for great food they settled on the barbecued ribs. Barbecued ribs just happened to be the specialty of this particular restaurant. When the ribs arrived at the table, Terri and Jim were surprised to find out that the ribs were prepared with a dry rub. It is a style of ribs they were to find out later, that is called Memphis style. Up to that point in time both had only had ribs that had been prepared with barbecue sauce on the ribs. These ribs were served with the barbecue sauce served on the side. Terri and Jim found the ribs to be very good as they were or with the added sauce.
Sometime later after Terri and Jim returned to their home in Minnesota they decided they would like to be able to make ribs with a dry rub like the ribs they had experienced in Nashville. But they had the idea that they could make something even better than the barbecued ribs they had had in Nashville. After searching for recipes and trying many different combinations of spices, and many taste tests, Terri and Jim found they had created a combination of spices that made for the best barbecued ribs they had ever had. After serving their barbecued ribs to family and friends and getting rave reviews, Terri and Jim knew they had to share their rib rub spice with the world. And that is how Rub dem Ribs came to be. Just remember to "Spice up your life".
